History
The flag of Kaohsiung City is a white field with the city emblem centered on it. The emblem is a stylized rendering of the character 高, the first character of the city’s name. The same flag remained in use after the 2010 merger of the former Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County, reflecting continuity in the city’s visual identity as a special municipality.
